Kids Create @ Crowngate

Crowngate is getting creative! We are offering free workshops for children of all ages to enjoy. The workshops will run between 11am and 4pm every weekend until Sunday 27th August!

The Kids Create shop is located by House of Fraser and The Gift Company in Chapel Walk. These themed workshops are hosted by the very enthusiastic and experienced Spare Room Arts team, as drop-in sessions, where you can pop in and spend as long as you wish creating an artwork masterpiece. All materials are provided and anything you make, can be taken home to keep (or given to a loved one as a gift of course!).

The weekly workshops are themed as follows:
8th and 10th July ~ Lets go fly a kite
Summer is the time to be outside and making the most of the sunshine and what better way of doing this than to make some super stunt kites that actually fly! You will be taught to make kites or if you just want to come along and decorate one that has already been made, there will be plenty to go around.
15th and 16th July ~ Strawberries and cream anyone?
What better way of celebrating Wimbledon than a day of tennis inspired art! Make your own tennis rackets to play balloon tennis, amongst other sporting arts and crafts! Workshops suitable for all ages.
22nd and 23rd July ~ Sing
So we can’t promise we can teach you to sing but we can make musical instruments to fit in with the 3 Choirs festival! In these workshops we will be making all wonder of brilliant percussion instruments, things to shake, things to rattle and roll…. a festival favourite.
29th and 30th July ~ Potty about pottery!
Worcester is world famous for its porcelain works, so in this workshop we are going to make our very own clay pots.
5th and 6th August ~ Foodie Festival
To support the Worcester Festival and launch of Crowngate Kitchen, we will be decorating our own (pre-made) fairy cakes. It’s edible art! We will also be decorating our own plant pots and planting seeds to take away with us to enjoy at home.
12th and 13th August ~ We’re all going on a summer holiday!
There is nothing better then the great British seaside! Ice creams, sea, sand and seagulls pinching your chips! Create your own shows, with your very own puppets and make your own sunglasses – no UV protection but you will look pretty cool!
19th and 20th August ~ Worcester Festival
Worcester festival is when the city come alive. Let’s celebrate this with some festival arts and crafts. From making your own bunting and flags, to cool festival headgear such as cardboard base ball caps or flower head garlands.
26th and 27th August ~ Busy Bees!
